I am really excited about the idea of this routine. I think that this teaches students to learn. It’s not something that will only apply for a short period of time, or only in my class. If my students can do this for the rest of their school careers, they’ll have an easier time of understanding content. Another reason I love this activity is that it teaches confidence. I’m teaching theatre not only because I have a love and passion for it, but because without it I would still be the shy girl I was as a freshman in high school. One of the greatest things about theatre is that it inspires confidence in its participants. This activity takes a menial task like reading a text book that I didn’t think could inspire confidence and makes it a leadership and confidence building activity. This activity could also be applied to the viewing of plays, or other students’ acting.
